Welcome to Character Limit, a fast-paced word survival game where quick thinking, clever wordplay and the occasional moment of sheer desperation are all part of the experience.

You've got twelve spaces in your rack. Letters keep arriving, whether you're ready for them or not.

Build words to clear space, score points and survive. Let your rack fill up, and the countdown begins.

Don't Fill The Rack

That's the golden rule.

You have twelve spaces to work with. Every new letter brings you closer to disaster, and when the rack fills up, you've only got seconds to do something about it.

Make a word. Clear some space. Live to spell another day.

Or don't. We're not your dictionary.

Number Go Up

Sure, you could make a quick three-letter word and buy yourself a little breathing room.

But what about that magnificent eight-letter monstrosity you've almost assembled?

Longer words score more points, and tricky letters can make them even more valuable. Every round becomes a battle between playing it safe and pushing your luck.

Do you take the easy points, or risk everything for a glorious high score?

There's no right answer. Only speed, instinct, and the growing suspicion that you might not know as many words as you thought.

More Than One Way to Panic

Normal Endless: The letters keep coming. You keep making words. Eventually, one of you wins. (It's usually the letters.)

Empty the Bag: A finite supply of letters, a very real finish line, and the small matter of surviving long enough to reach it.

Daily Play: A new challenge every day, with just one attempt per language. No second chances, so make your words count.

Extra Challenges: Different rules and configurations to put your word-building skills to the test.

English? Welsh? Both!

Play Character Limit in English or Welsh, complete with language-specific letter distributions and Welsh digraph tiles such as CH, DD, FF, NG and LL.

Because apparently making a word game in one language wasn't complicated enough.

Both languages have their own high scores and leaderboards, so there's plenty of opportunity to discover that you're equally bad at spelling in two languages.

A Little Help When Things Get Desperate

Sometimes you need more than an impressive vocabulary.

Use limited assists to clear troublesome letters, sweep part of your rack, shuffle things around or bring a wildcard into play.

They might save your round.

Or you might use them all immediately and regret everything five minutes later.
