GENERAL IDLER is an idle conquest game on a parallel Earth: 195 nations with their own borders, populations and strategic assets. You start with one country and a handful of cash. You finish holding the world.

THE LOOP

Build industries to earn cash. Spend cash on units to raise Army Power. Spend Army Power to take the country next door. Every conquest grows your empire, so the next one comes faster.

THE MAP IS A DECISION, NOT A BACKDROP

Most countries carry a strategic asset. Breadbaskets and oil fields boost their industry. A Fortress weakens its neighbours. Strait Control opens island chains. Crossroads makes every invasion cheaper. Zoom in and watch your army mass at the border, then march in.

DOCTRINES

Every cycle opens with a posture: Economic Mobilization, Blitzkrieg or War of Attrition. Each amplifies a whole family of strategic assets, so your doctrine and your route are one decision

TWO WAYS TO TAKE A COUNTRY

Pay Army Power for its territory, or cash for its allegiance. Vassals pay tribute, share their assets and extend your reach.

RIVAL GENERALS

Three AI commanders play the same game on the same map, by the same rules. They fight each other and besiege your borders.

NUKE IT, OR DON'T

Deploy the Nuke to end a cycle and turn your conquests into medals for permanent research. Take all 195 and declare a New World Order: a second prestige layer, with an ending for those who see it through. Or never press the button: a Conventional Victory earns a War Chest that carries into the next world.

NEW: SCENARIOS

Standalone wars with their own starting maps, rivals and goals, and real lose conditions. Hold out as Uruguay against three empires, race a rival superpower to 100 countries, or break out of a ring of enemies. Your campaign is never touched.

NEW: SCENARIO EDITOR + STEAM WORKSHOP

Paint the map for yourself and up to three rivals, rename countries, change flags, merge nations, set the goal and the forces, then press PLAY. Publish your war to the Steam Workshop in one click, and play everyone else's.

PLAYS ON YOUR TERMS

Offline earnings, standing orders that keep conquering while you are away, and AUTO-INVADE for the late game. Full controller support.
