New heroine: Meng Ying, Underworld Envoy

Granddaughter of Meng Po, she helps her grandmother hand out soup by the Naihe Bridge. On the day of the red moon, the rift in the sky cracked the underworld's Demon Urn, more than a hundred demon souls fled into the Abyss, and she had to come after them, urn in hand.

A mid-range chain fighter built on cold and executes: her Soulhook Chain drags enemies to her, Soul Lanterns and the Tide of Forgetting lock down whole packs, and any enemy under a tenth of its life is simply struck off. Six skills, three talent routes, four sets, 24 legendaries of her own and a full set of court gear. Her passive, Borrowed Spirit, makes her skill element follow her Spirit Gear weapon: change the weapon, change her element.

The Netherworld: a map of its own

Yellow Springs Road, Ghost Gate Pass, Naihe Bridge, the City of the Wrongly Dead and the Hall of Ten Kings: five zones and 50 floors, 40 new monsters and five zone bosses, with the Taotie, last of the Four Fiends, waiting at the bottom. Monster strength follows your progress, so any heroine can come, and every kill can capture a spirit.

Spirit fusion

Monsters and zone bosses from the Abyss and the Netherworld, plus the souls of the Legendary Rift's mythical beasts, the court bosses and the Lords of the Abyssal Oaths: 170 kinds of spirit can go into the urn. Fuse two into one and their traits are pooled, then randomly trimmed. Inscribe new traits with pages, seal the one you cannot lose, and send a spirit to be reborn with Meng Po's Soup. The more you fuse, the bigger the gamble: a spirit with a dozen traits is a rare find.

Spirit Gear: every affix comes from the spirit

Seal a spirit into a blank weapon, ring or amulet and each of its traits becomes an affix, ignoring slot restrictions. A dozen affixes or more, all down to luck. Every heroine can use Spirit Gear.

Nearly 700 Secret Arts, for players who love theorycrafting

Turn a skill into another element, make Freeze count as Stun for every condition, borrow armor as damage, sign a Pact that trades a cost for power, or combine 480 triggers like “On crit · Heaven's Thunder”. Mythical beast souls resonate with the myth gear of the same name. The training dummy breaks damage down by each art, and conversion details and Spirit Gear try-on let you check a build before you commit.
