Infinite Orienteering: The Hiker's Path is a realistic orienteering simulator. You start in an endless, procedurally generated landscape with a real orienteering map and a compass, and race to find the controls in order, as fast as you can. Every ridge, marsh and thicket is a route choice: over the hill or around it, straight through the thick forest or the long way along the path?

Race the world, every day

Multiplayer is the default. New Game opens on the Challenge Hub: fresh courses that rotate every day, week, month and year, in Sprint, Middle and Long, on Steam leaderboards everyone shares.

• One attempt counts, like a real start. Run the course again as practice whenever you like.
  
• Wildcards keep the distance but add a twist or two: no sprinting, rough ground, a fall penalty, and maybe Score-O, night or fog.
  
• Once you have run a course, watch everyone's replays on the map and see where they won or lost time.
  
• Rate each course as you cross the finish, and spot the developers on the boards.

Race your friends live

Host a race for your Steam friends, for anyone, for invited players only, or on your local network, and start the same course together from a mass start. Up to four runners, no ports or addresses to set up, and afterwards the whole field watches the replay together.

An infinite world

Every seed builds a new landscape: forests and open land, cliffs, knolls and marshes, lakes and rivers, roads and bridges, paths and animal trails, and farms with fences, gates and grazing herds, under a sky that reaches out to the horizon. The same seed builds the same map every time, so share a Map ID and everyone races exactly the same course.

A real orienteering map

The map in your hand is drawn the way a real orienteering map is, with the International Orienteering Federation's ISOM symbols: contours, vegetation, rock, water, roads, paths, walls, fences and point features. Controls stand on real features, described in IOF symbols on a sheet beside the map, and Focus Next Leg turns the map so the leg you are running points up the paper.
