Invaders Evolutions is a modern survival-action reimagining of the classic arcade alien shooter. Each run is a 100-level gauntlet through an increasingly lethal invasion, ending in a definitive final boss encounter.

An Escalating Arms Race

The longer the war lasts, the more both sides evolve. Your choices must keep pace with an enemy that grows smarter, faster, and more dangerous as the battle escalates.

The Thinking Swarm

• Aliens unlock new battlefield skills as you progress.

• They optimize formations and fill gaps in their ranks.

• They launch angled bombing runs, repair damaged units, and can even resurrect fallen attackers.

Punishment for Failure

• The enemy does not just grow with time; it feeds on your mistakes.

• Let special ships escape, allow your barriers to collapse, or lose control of the battlefield, and the invasion accelerates.

• Every failed defense gives the swarm another chance to outpace you.

Build Your Resistance

You are in control of humanity’s counterattack. Between waves, choose upgrades that shape your turret into the weapon you need for the current threat.

• Chosen Upgrades: Invest in fire rate, bullet speed, reload speed, mobility, or additional turret reserves to define your build.

• Progression Skills: Reach key milestones to unlock essential defensive technology, including turret shields and enhanced barriers.

• Reserve Management: You start with three turrets and can build up to five. Only one turret fights at a time, so every loss matters. When the last reserve is gone, the run is over.

Industrial War Machine

Step into a dark, retro-industrial battlefield of glowing projectiles, animated special attacks, heavy boss encounters, and mechanical spectacle. A tense, driving soundtrack reinforces the one-more-wave urgency of an escalating war.

Invaders Evolutions is the work of a small indie team driven by a love for classic arcade shooters. To bring this reimagining to life, we utilized Generative AI to bridge critical skill gaps in our technical art, language translation, and concepting.

These tools allowed us to elevate the visual experience and focus our limited resources on what truly matters: a deep, reactive evolution system and tight gameplay loops that would have otherwise been out of reach for a team of our size. Every alien and upgrade was carefully directed and refined by us to ensure the heart of the game remains a human-led vision.
