The protagonist is a diligent and hardworking employee who was on the verge of being promoted to market department manager, only to have his opportunity snatched by Zhao Wei, a newly hired rich second-generation with a powerful background. To make matters worse, his girlfriend from university, Tang Zhu, is seduced by Zhao Wei and ruthlessly abandons him.
