Asto Burn Artbook

Description

Every spacefaring hero has an origin story. Astro’s just happens to involve more fur, more catnip and considerably more things going boom.

Pounce behind the scenes of Astro Burn with this 36-page digital artbook, lovingly assembled as a tribute to the colourful Super Famicom manuals that inspired the game’s retro Cute-’Em-Up spirit.

Follow Astro from the first scratchy ideas to the final, fully armed feline. Explore early game-direction notes, rough storyboards, character and expression sheets for Astro and Al the A.I., ship concepts, pixel-art environments, prologue frames, obstacle designs and vibrant full-page illustrations.

You’ll also meet some of the real pets belonging to Astro Burn’s Kickstarter backers and get a closer look at the game’s physical-media concepts, including its USB cartridge, controller and vinyl record soundtrack.

Inside the artbook:

• Early sketches and handwritten game-direction ideas

• Character designs and expression sheets

• Astro’s ship, environments, obstacles and pixel art

• Storyboards, prologue frames and full-colour illustrations

• Kickstarter backers’ pets

• Physical-media concepts

It’s the purr-fect companion for curious cadets, art-loving cats and anyone who has ever wondered how much sketching it takes to weaponise cuteness.

No catnip required. Curiosity strongly recommended.

CUTENESS. WEAPONISED.
