Games play out pitch by pitch, driven by your players' ratings. Sit back and watch, or step in with batting and defensive calls whenever you like.

Run the Front Office

Free agency, trades, Contract Renewal and Retirement Talks. Bring a player's numbers to the table, buy out a deal that isn't working, and sign foreign players to fill the gaps. When a star asks to be posted overseas or leaves as an overseas free agent, it's your call how to respond.

Draft and Scouting

What you see of draft prospects and foreign signings is your scouts' estimate. Dig deeper and hire sharper eyes, and the picture gets clearer.

Prospects show up from Opening Day. Meet them, win them over, and if clubs collide on a first-round pick, it goes to a lottery. A player who turns you down may come back years later.

Balance the Books

Ticket prices, sponsors, merchandise and ballpark renovations. Winning builds popularity, and popularity pays off. Prefer to focus on the roster and the dugout? Hand the finances to auto-management.

Build Your League

One to six leagues, up to 30 clubs, starting from a Japanese-style 12-team league. Split them into divisions, add promotion and relegation, or rebuild the whole structure in the offseason. Postseason format, injury frequency and more can be changed even mid-save. A regular International Tournament gives your players a chance to make the national team.

Make It Yours

Design home and visitor uniforms, ballpark exteriors (roof, setting, season), team emblems and player faces, and see them all in 3D matches. Share uniforms with a share code.

Edit players, teams and ballparks in-game, swap in your own sound effects, walk-up music, cheer songs and images, and share mods through Steam Workshop. The Windows full version also includes creation tools such as the Cheer Song Maker.

Use jersey numbers 0 and 00, edit managers' and coaches' faces and gender, and set player injuries before Opening Day. Choose the color and width of the ballpark's batter's eye.

Minigames

Swing for the fences, call balls and strikes, race the relief cart, steal second. Six hands-on minigames, separate from your season, including Home Run Derby, Umpire Challenge and Relief Cart Battle. Pick players from your data and their ratings show in how they play.

A History That Keeps Growing

Players develop, peak, decline and retire, and new generations take their place. Records and the Player Directory fill up with a history that belongs only to your world. After each game day, a Post-game News Show recaps what happened.

Hakoniwa Base Ball is made by a solo developer. Since launch it has added a 3D match view, minigames, uniform and ballpark editors, international tournaments and more. Updates will keep coming, with an ear to what players have to say.
