🏰 Special Rooms — Story Events
Most of the game is played through concise log messages focused on exploration, combat, and character progression.
However, special story events can occur in certain rooms.
Locations such as the Troll's Bridge, Miasma Swamp, and Silver Temple present gamebook-style descriptions and meaningful choices that stand apart from the game's usual roguelike flow.
These encounters can provide unique rewards, unexpected consequences, and memorable stories that shape your adventure.
⌨️About Controls
Keyboard + mouse is the recommended way to play Text Dungeon.
Many commands, as well as target selection for enemies and items, can be performed quickly by pressing the single-letter shortcuts.
Gamepad controls are also fully supported. However, gamepad play relies more heavily on navigating menus and selecting commands from lists, resulting in a different feel compared to keyboard controls.
For the fast-paced gameplay experience inspired by classic roguelikes such as NetHack and Linley's Dungeon Crawl, we recommend playing with a keyboard and mouse.
